Myrtle Beach Softball Spring Break Day 1: The Bus Ride

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - After nearly 16 hours on a bus, the Regis (Mass.) softball team arrived in the Palmetto State at approximately 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening to open their 2017 Spring Break trip. The Pride left Regis just after 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

A majority of the team used the lengthy bus ride to catch up on sleep, while some watched movies and read books. At one point, a number of players took part in the classic game of Uno at the back of the bus. In the trip's final couple hours, a handful of restless players began to create their own excitement by playing music and dancing their way down the highway.

The team only stopped a small handful of times over the course of the day, with a pit stop for breakfast at a road side rest area in Delaware, a bus driver change in Annapolis, Md. and a lunch break in Emporia, Va. The Pride wrapped up its long day with a stop for dinner before preceding to the hotel in preparation for Sunday's season opener.

The Pride opens their schedule on Sunday evening, when they take on Penn State-Schuylkill at 5:30 p.m. at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. The game against the Lady Lions will be the first of eight games for the Pride over the next six days, concluding on Friday with a game against Wilkes.
