WESTON, Mass. – Regis College senior pitcher Katie Cuozzo (Lynn, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week in Softball, announced Monday by the conference office.
Cuozzo took the mound in the first game of the twinbill against non-conference opponent Fitchburg State on Thursday evening. The senior right hander did not disappoint as she pitched a complete game shutout while scattering five hits and striking out six batters. Cuozzo moved to 3-1 on the year and lowered her ERA to 1.81, tops in the NECC. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate during the win.
Cuozzo and the Pride return to action on Saturday, Apr. 9, hosting a doubleheader against Mitchell at 12:00 p.m.
