THREE EARN TCCC HONORABLE MENTION, LUQUET ROOKIE OF YEAR

Weston, Mass.-Freshman Caitlin Luquet (Walnut Creek, Calif.) earned The Commonwealth Coast Conference of Rookie of the Year honor Thursday. Luquet led the Pride in eight offensive categories, and tied with Hope Benjamin (Rochester, Mass.) in homeruns. TCCC coaches vote on the recipient of the honor each year.

Luquet brought a big game to the Pride offense, batting .407 with four home runs, two inside the park, 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, and a .620 slugging percentage. Luquet's .406 batting average ranked her eighth in the TCCC.

Luquet and teammates Benjamin, Rachel Cavella (West Roxbury, Mass.), and Ashley Paolini (Epping, NH) were all named to the TCCC All-Conference Honorable Mention team. Benjamin had 34 hits, with 23 RBI, and a season batting average of .362.

Serving as the utility player, Cavella posted 47 putouts, with 73 assists in 31 games this season. Paolini batted an impressive .375, had 39 hits in 104 at bats. Paolini posted a .404 on base and slugging percentage.
