DANIEL WEBSTER TOO MUCH FOR PRIDE

Weston, Mass.-With its 7-1 first game win over Regis College (5-31, 1-21 (TCCC) Daniel Webster (15-14, 8-5-1 NECC) broke its school record for most wins in a season with 14. The Eagles took a 12-5 win in game two.

The Eagles freshman pitcher Sam Langlois (Raymond, N.H.) struck-out seven Regis batters, and allowed just two hits. The Pride's Caitlin Luquet (Walnut Creek, CA) posted both hits, one of which was an inside the park homerun in the first inning of game one. Luquet posted a second inside the park homerun in the second game.

Sophomore Tiana Winter (New Ipswich, N.H.) posted three runs batted in for the Eagles, and scored one run. Freshmen Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) and Amanda Wilson (Merrimack, N.H.) both went 2-for-4 on the day, and posted three and two runs respectively.

Regis showed flashes of defensive effort throughout the game with Rachel Cavella (West Roxbury, Mass.) saving a run in the seventh inning with a toss to catcher Ashley Paolini (Epping, N.H.). Cavella posted four putouts on the day.

Waller and Amanda Varricchio (Middletown, C.T.) would each bat 3-for-5 in game two with with Varricchio posting two runs and a RBI. Kristina Rieger (Concord, N.H.) and Wilson batted 2-for-4 for the Eagles.

Theresa DiSantis (Hindsdale, Mass.), April Molina (Fairfield, C.T.) and Wilson would each score a run and RBI for Daniel Webster in its 12-5 defeat of Regis College.
