SEAHAWKS FLY IN DOUBLEHEADER

Weston, Mass.—Salve Regina pitcher Sarah Jakiela (Meriden, Conn.) struck out six Regis College batters in game one of a 2-0 victory for the Seahawks. Salve Regina (17-11, 12-8 TCCC) won its second game 9-0, dropping the Pride to 8-29 overall, and 5-15 in TCCC play.

Teammates Courtney Fleming (Wethersfield, Conn.) and Kristen Parolise (Hamden, Conn.) scored the Seahawks only runs in game one. Each would score runs in the second game as well. Fleming would tally two runs batted in on doubles.

The Seahawks scored three runs in the first inning of game two. Jakiela, and Ali Muehlbronner (Glenside, Pa.) scored off of a Parolise single.

Regis pitcher Kendra Abram (Acushnet, Mass.) had a tough day at the mound, giving up 11 runs total. Abram struck out just one batter in the doubleheader.

Five Seahawk players would score runs on six hits in the second inning of game two, giving Salve Regina an 8-0 lead. Regis’ Molly Texeira (Rindge, NH) attempted to keep Regis in the game with a two-base shot to right field.

Texeira had Regis’ only hit in the second game. The Pride will look to regain composure when it hosts Wentworth on April 24. The Seahawks will host Eastern Nazarene on April 23.
