Teammate Emily Mangiaratti (Amherst, Mass.) had the team’s second best batting average as she was 3-of-4 (.750) at the plate in the first game, and scored one run. Lynx Scratch Past Pride in Game Two

The Lynx trailed for three innings in game two, but rallied to score five runs in the last three innings. Mangiaratti led Lesley with two runs, going 2-of-4 at the plate, and tallied a run batted in. Fralick again had a decent showing, going 2-of-3, scoring a run, and posting a putout. As a team Lesley had 21 putouts.

Shannon Hurley (Billerica, Mass.) went 2-of-4, scored a run, and had three assists for Regis. Abram, Hope Benjamin (Rochester, Mass.), Maryssa Allen (Attleboro, Mass.), and Rachel Cavella (West Roxbury, Mass.) all posted runs for Regis.

Regis started off hot, but began to struggle defensively in the sixth. With just one out on the board, Mangiaratti hit a triple to score Lesley’s fourth run. She would advance home on an error by the Regis second baseman, knotting the game at five all.

Lesley would bring in one more run in the inning for good measure before Regis grabbed the needed third out.

The Pride batters could not last late in the game, batting into defenders gloves. Cassandra Knox (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) would finish the game, pitching 4.1 innings, and give up one hit.

Regis College will return to the diamond Saturday, March 27 to host Newbury College at noon. Lesley will travel to Wheelock March 29 to battle the Wildcats.
