WESTON, Mass. – For the third consecutive week, freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) of the Regis College men's cross country team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday morning.

Norton helped the Pride capture an eighth place team finish at the Elms College Invitational on Saturday, where he ran the 8k course in 30:58. His time was one second faster than the previous week at the Pop Crowell Invitational. He was a 38th place individual finisher out of 91 total runners and ran the fastest time among NECC freshmen.

Norton and the Pride will next compete at the James Early Invitational at Westfield State University on Saturday, Oct. 12. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
