WESTON, Mass. – For the second straight week, freshman Matt Norton (Weymouth, Mass.) of the Regis College men's cross country team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference's offices on Monday morning.

Competing at the 42nd Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday, Norton crossed the finish line of the 8k course in 30:59, which was good enough for a 43rd place individual finish out of over 150 total runners. He shaved 16 seconds off of his 8k time at the Daniel Webster Invitational one week ago.

Norton and the Pride will next compete at the Blazer Invite at Chicopee State Park this Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10:00 a.m.
