PRIDE FINISH SIXTH IN PRESEASON POLL

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College men's cross country team, who will be competing in the program's first varsity season this fall, have been selected to finish sixth in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), it was announced by the league's offices on Thursday afternoon. The placement is determined by a vote of the league's coaches.

Lesley University, the four-time reigning NECC Champions, were unanimously chosen as preseason favorites after picking up 49 points and all seven first-place votes. Mitchell (39) and Southern Vermont (31) finished in second and third, respectively, to round out the top three.

Regis garnered 17 points to come in at sixth behind Elms (23) and Newbury (21), while Daniel Webster finished in seventh with 16 points.

The Pride open up the year with the Fens Classic at Emmanuel College on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m.
