WESTON, Mass. – After a stellar week in leading the Regis College men's volleyball team to a 3-0 record, senior Matt Ferrara (Sandown, N.H.) has been named to the FrogJump Volleyball Team of the Week, announced Tuesday morning, March 22.

Ferrara started the week by collecting nine kills and three service aces against Dean last Tuesday. In Saturday's first match, he notched a double-double with a season-high 17 kills and a career-high 16 digs as the Pride defeated Emerson in five sets.

Later Saturday against Colby-Sawyer, Ferrara collected a career-high 19 kills on 27 attempts without an attack error for a .704 hitting percentage, also a career high. In addition, he contributed two service aces, four digs, and four total blocks against the Chargers.

For the week, Ferrara finished with 45 kills on 75 attack attempts with just three errors for a .560 hitting percentage. He became the fifth player in program history to reach the 400-kill mark in a career, and he has already moved into a tie for fifth place on the Regis single-season list for kills with 205 so far this season.

The FrogJump Team of the Week recognizes some of the top performances at outside hitter, middle hitter, opposite, setter, and libero. Honorees are nominated by their SID/coaches and selected by a committee of FrogJump staff.

Regis College, currently 11-10 overall and 6-4 within the GNAC, heads west to face top-ranked Springfield College Wednesday, March 23, starting at 6 p.m. Regis will then face Emmanuel and Elms during a conference tri-match in Boston Saturday, March 26, before concluding the regular season with four straight home contests.
