WESTON, Mass. – In a match between conference powers, the Regis College Pride men's volleyball team took down Daniel Webster in four sets to pull into a tie for second place in New England Collegiate Conference action on Tuesday night on Higgins Court. Set scores were 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21.

Regis improved to 11-11 overall and 7-2 in the NECC while the Eagles fell to 15-10 and even for second in the league standings at 7-2. The match was a potential preview of the NECC tournament semifinals which get underway Apr. 8.

Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) delivered a match-high 16 kills hitting at a .441 clip while also adding eight digs and three blocks. Marcos Aguirre (Norwalk, Calif.) added 12 kills and Jon Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) equaled match-high honors with 11 digs.

Tommy Reyes had a double-double for the Eagles with 13 kills and 11 digs. Darrien Mason posted a match-high six blocks.

Regis got off to a stellar start with a dominating opening set win. Bisnett's kill capped a 10-3 Pride run to put Regis up 15-7. DWC made a late run but the Pride pulled away for the win.

Set two was a much closer affair but Regis led most of the way to take a commanding two-set lead. Mason's block put the Pride up 9-6 but a Reyes kill brought the Eagles to within one point at 15-14 midway through the set. With Regis still only up a point, back-to-back Bisnett kills seized the momentum for the Pride who pulled away for the win.

After a third set hiccup, the Pride closed the door on DWC with a 25-21 set four win. An early 7-1 run helped Regis to a big lead and the Pride never looked back.

Regis next hosts Lesley for Senior Day. First serve at Higgins Court is set for 11:00 a.m.
