GRIFFINS COMEBACK DOWN 2-0, BEAT PRIDE IN FIVE SETS

WESTON, Mass. – The Fontbonne University men's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 second set deficit to beat Regis College 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 15-9) this Wednesday evening on Higgins Court. The victory improved the Griffins record to 12-9 and the loss dropped the Pride to 10-11.

Sophomore outside hitter Stephen Lendy (Chicago, Ill.) recorded a match high 22 kills for the guests. Brendon Schwartze (St. Louis, Mo.) chipped in 13 kills along with teammate TJ Vorva (Orland Park, Ill). Senior libero Jimmy Stika (St. Louis, Mo.) was a force on the defensive side as he led all players with 32 digs. Jacob Lendy (Chicago, Ill) handed out 31 assists.

For the Crimson and Gold, Marcos Aguirre (Norwalk, Calif.) led Pride offense with 16 kills and recorded a .452 hitting percentage. Classmate Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) recorded double-didgit kills with 10 and had a .769 hitting percentage along with a match-high five total blocks. Zach Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.) handed out a game-best 39 dimes and had nine digs while Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) led the Regis defense with 11 digs.

The Pride return to action on Tuesday, March 29th when they host New England Collegiate Conference opponent Daniel Webster at 7:00 p.m.
