AGUIRRE, BEIMEL EARN WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College sophomore Marcos Aguirre (Norwalk, Calif.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week while teammate Drew Beimel (Redondo Beach, Calif.) was named the Rookie of the Week in Men's Volleyball; it was announced on Monday afternoon.

Aguirre had a strong week for the Pride. He led the squad to a 2-0 record and Regis' first ever win versus Endicott. The sophomore outside hitter chalked up 27 kills, a .463 hitting percentage, five digs, two total blocks and one assist. Against the Gulls, Aguirre complied a career-high 21 kills and an insane .533 hitting percentage with four defensive digs.

Beimel racked up 13 kills, 11 digs, four total blocks, two assists and a .241 hitting percentage during the two contests this past weel. During the Crimson and Gold's upset win at Endicott, Beimel ranked second on the team in kills, matching a career-high with 11. He also had the second most digs on the team with eight and chipped in with two total blocks and a .391 hitting percentage.

The Pride will return to action Tuesday night for a non-conference contest with Johnson & Wales (R.I.) at 6:00 p.m.
