CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis College men's volleyball team won their second straight New England Collegiate Conference contest with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-17, 25-12) sweep of Lesley University Saturday afternoon at the Nicholas Athletics Center. The Pride improve to 2-7, 2-1 NECC and the loss drops the Lynx to 0-2, 0-1 NECC.

Regis used a balanced offensive attack that saw eight different players register multiple kills while the team swung a collective .442 percentage on the day. Sophomore Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and junior Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) knocked down six kills apiece to lead the charge while freshman DJ Lyons (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added five kills for the guests. Junior Zach Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.) dished out a match-high 14 assists.

Lesley junior Tyler Burns (Newton, Pa.), who is now the all-time kills leader in program history, paced the Lynx and led all players with eight kills to go with four digs. Senior C.Jay Sutton (Billerica, Mass.) helped set up the offense with seven assists and freshman Karuna Chiemruom (Cranston, R.I.) added four assists with three kills.

The teams exchanged the first six points of the opening set before Regis went on a 9-0 run behind the serve of freshman Drew Beimel (Redondo Beach, Calif.) to blow the set open before taking a 1-0 match lead with the 25-8 set win.

The momentum continued for the Pride in the second as the guests jumped out to a 10-4 advantage. The Lynx clawed their way back and pulled within two with a 5-1 spurt sparked by a Regis service error and a Chiemruom kill. The Pride would punch back by with a 7-1 run to claim an 18-10 lead in the set and then rolling to the 25-17 victory.

A Jacob DiDomenico (N. Providence, R.I.) kill coupled with a Regis attack error would give the Lynx an early 2-1 lead in the third set, but a Lyons slam would ignite a 10-0 streak that gave the guests a 12-2 advantage. The Lynx would continue to battle and a Burns ace would bring the hosts back to within six, 18-12. Once again, the Pride had an answer as sophomore Jeff Ramos (Pawtucket, R.I.) would serve out the remainder of the set, connecting for three aces during the 7-0 run, to clinch the Pride's second straight NECC win.

The Lynx will be back on their home floor on Wednesday when they play host to Daniel Webster College at 8:00 p.m. The Pride will also be back in conference play on Wednesday as they kick off a three game home stand and welcome Endicott College at 7:00 p.m.
