2016 MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

WESTON, Mass. – Fifth year head coach Scott Wright is proud to announce the 2016 match schedule for the Regis College men's volleyball team. This seasons schedule will feature 13 non-conference opponents and 12 home matches.

The Crimson and Gold are coming off their first ever New England Collegiate Conference tournament win as well as their first appearance in the NECC Championship Game.

Returning for Regis is sophomore middle blocker Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) who was a three-time NECC Rookie of the Week and a Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference North Region Rookie of the Week. Krahl finished his freshman campaign with a team leading 165 kills and 99 blocks. Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) returns for his third season after earning a selection to the NECC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. He spent time as both an outside hitter and libero in 2015. Bisnett finished the year with 116 kills with a .179 hitting percentage, nine aces, 192 digs, and 17 blocks. He ranked fifth on the team in kills, third in hitting percentage, fifth in aces, seventh in blocks, and led the team in digs.

The Pride opens the season on January 21st when they ship off to Boston for a meeting with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m. After a week layoff, Regis returns to Higgins Court for their home opener against Emmanuel on January 28th at 7:00 p.m.

Two days later, the Crimson and Gold travel to Utica, N.Y. for their first tri-match of the season against Wells at 2:00 p.m. and play host SUNY Poly at 4:00 p.m.

Regis returns to Massachusetts and heads back to Boston for their second tri-match of the year hosted by the Wentworth Institute of Technology to open the month of February. The Crimson and Gold will play the host Leopards on Saturday, February 6th at 11:00 a.m. and after the match Regis will face New Jersey City, for the first time in team history at 1:00 p.m.

After the tri-meeting, Regis opens up their NECC slate with four conference contests in 11 days. On Tuesday, February 9th, Regis begins conference play with an away contest in Nashua, N.H. versus Daniel Webster at 7:00 p.m. Two days later on February 11th, the Pride welcome the Newbury Nighthawks to campus for the Crimson and Gold's conference home opener at 7:00 p.m. Regis travels to Lesley on Saturday, February, 13th for a contest that's TBA. On Wednesday, February 17th, the Pride men look to avenge their 2015 NECC Championship setback to Endicott at 7:00 p.m. On that Saturday, February 20th the Crimson and Gold host their first tri-match of the campaign when they welcome conference foe Elms to Higgins Court at 11:00 a.m. and non-conference opponent Rivier at 3:00 p.m.

The Pride wrap up the month of February on the road with their second meeting against Newbury on Wednesday, February 24t at 7:00 p.m. and three days later, the squad travels to Bennington, Vt. for their first contest of the year against Southern Vermont at 1:00 p.m.

Regis opens March with two straight non-conference games. On the first of the month, the Crimson and Gold host the Emerson Lions at 6:00 p.m., two days later on March 3rd, Regis heads to Mount Ida for a 6:00 p.m. date with the Mustangs.

On Monday March 7th, Regis travels to the site of their 2015 NECC Championship game loss at Endicott with game time set for 7:00 p.m. Two days later, the Crimson and Gold head south to the Big Apple, New York City, to square off against John Jay College at the Doghouse with the match slated to start at 6:00 p.m. The Pride come back to Weston on Tuesday, March 15th for a non-conference matchup with Johnson & Wales (R.I.) at 6:00 p.m. Regis wraps up their road slate of games traveling to Elms for their second matchup of the season on St. Patrick's Day.

The Crimson and Gold end the season with five consecutive home games. On Saturday, March 19th Regis hosts their final tri-match of the year when they welcome Southern Vermont (11:00 a.m.) and the City College of New York (3:00 p.m.). On Wednesday March 23rd, the Pride hosts the Fontbonne Griffins from St. Louis for a 6:00 p.m. game. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Regis wraps up the year with two straight conference games as they host Daniel Webster on March 29th at 7:00 p.m. and Lesley on April 2nd at 11:00 a.m.

The NECC Tournament begins with the Semifinals to be played on April 8th and the Championship Game to be played a day later on April 9th.
