PRIDE SPLIT ON DAY ONE OF KEUKA TOURNAMENT

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Regis College men's volleyball team picked up their first win of 2015 with a 3-0 victory over Bard College before dropping a 3-2 decision to SUNY Poly in their second match of the Keuka Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Pride (1-3) cruised to the 3-0 victory over the Raptors with set scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-18. Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) led the Pride attack with 10 kills, while Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and Brandon Tordoff (Coventry, R.I.) added seven kills apiece. Marcos Aguirre (Norwalk, Calif.) chipped in five kills.

Bisnett also added a match-high 13 digs, while Jon Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) was right behind him with 10 digs on the day. Josiah Roque (Oxnard, Calif.) had eight digs and four kills. Tordoff paced the Pride defense with four total blocks, and Joe Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.) dished out a match-high 30 assists.

Against SUNY Poly, Regis took game one, 25-23, before dropping the second set, 25-16. The Wildcats took a 2-1 advantage in the match with a 25-23 win in game three, before the Pride rebounded for a 25-11 decision to force a fifth and deciding game. SUNY outlasted the Pride, 15-11, to take the second match of the day for both squads, 3-2.

Bisnett posted another double-double in the nightcap with 11 kills and 14 digs. Tordoff and Roque added eight kills apiece, while Krahl and Aguirre had seven kills each.

Hanrahan also had a double-double with 20 assists and 10 digs, with Jon Fuentes adding 10 digs of his own. Roque and Ryan Husher (Camarillo, Calif.) had four blocks apiece, with Tordoff leading the Pride with five total blocks.

The Pride kick off day two of the Keuka Tournament with a 9:00 a.m. matchup with Sage, followed by an 11:00 a.m. meeting with the host Keuka.
