PRIDE FALL TO #13 MIT AND LEOPARDS IN 2015 OPENER

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis College men's volleyball team opened the season with a tri-match against #13 MIT and Wentworth on Saturday afternoon. The Pride fell to the nationally-ranked Engineers, 3-0, and followed that up with a 3-0 setback to the Leopards. MIT (4-0) won the tri-match with a 3-1 win over Wentworth (6-2).

Regis returns to action next weekend when they travel to Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y. to take part in a tournament held on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

#13 MIT 3, Regis 0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-17)
In the matchup with MIT, Sophomore Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) paced a balanced Regis (0-2) attack with seven kills while adding seven digs. Freshman Ryan Conte (Oxnard, Calif.) produced seven digs, five kills, and two blocks as sophomore Brandon Tordoff (Coventry, R.I.) collected eight digs and three blocks. Sophomore Jon Fuentes (Downey, Calif.) picked up five digs while freshmen Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and Marcos Aquirre (Norwalk, Calif.) both registered three blocks. Freshman Ryan Husher (Camarillo, Calif.) rounded out the squad with 15 assists and three blocks.

MIT was led by Senior Alex Klein (San Diego, Calif.) led the way for MIT (4-0) with 10 kills and 10 digs as sophomore Martin Krasuski (Aurora, Ill.) tallied nine kills, six digs, and two blocks. Freshman Jack Serrino (Glencoe, Ill.) posted six kills and six blocks while sophomore Sean Kropp (Fairless Hills, Pa.) bolstered the front row with three blocks. Junior Brendan Chang (Laytonsville, Md.) registered 29 assists and five aces as senior Chris Omahan (Mount Vernon, Ohio) and sophomore Jordan Lucier (Torrance, Calif.) both notched four digs.

Wentworth 3, Regis 0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-19)
Against the Leopards, Krahl posted five kills and three blocks, followed by four kills and three blocks by Tordoff. Freshman Josiah Roque (Oxnard, Calif.) earned four blocks and three digs as Aquirre added two blocks. Sophomore Joe Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.) dished out nine assists while Husher finished with five assists, five digs, and an ace.

Sophomore Jake Reed (Arvada, Colo.) powered Wentworth (6-2) with 13 kills and a .579 hitting percentage to go along with two aces. Freshman Jon Roat (Macedon, N.Y.) tallied nine kills, a .375 hitting performance, six digs, four blocks, and two aces as classmate Sean Mullen (Longwood, Fla.) recorded nine kills, a .333 hitting effort, and four blocks. Senior Sean Donahue (Lincoln, R.I.) chipped in six kills and two blocks while sophomore Alex Potts (Niverville, N.Y.) contributed three blocks. Sophomore Colin Ritter (Feeding Hills, Mass.) generated a double-double on a match-high 30 assists and 10 digs as freshman Kevin McPeek (Bethlehem, Pa.) tacked on six digs.
