COYE GRABS NECC WEEKLY HONOR

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman volleyball player Joe Coye (Plaistow, N.H.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league offices on Monday morning. Coye helped lead the Pride to a 1-1 mark last week, including the Pride's first win of the 2013 season.

The rookie began the week with 14 kills on a .458 hitting percentage in the Pride's 3-0 victory over Lesley University on Wednesday night. He also added a pair of service aces, five digs, and two total blocks. Coye followed that up with a team-best nine kills on a .444 hitting percentage while adding a dig and a block in the Pride's 3-0 setback to Lasell College.

The freshman currently leads the Pride in kills (48), attacks (142), and total blocks (12). He is also second on the team in service aces with five and third on the Pride in digs with 31.

Joe Coye and the Regis College Pride return to action on Wednesday night when they host Daniel Webster College in a 7:00 p.m. NECC men's volleyball match.
