PRIDE FALL TO EAGLES 3-0 IN NECC ACTION

NASHUA, N.H– The Regis College men's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-10) by New England Collegiate Conference opponent Daniel Webster College Saturday afternoon at the Mario Vagge Gymnasium. The Pride moves to 0-4 on the season, while the Eagles nab their first victory of the year and move to 1-3 overall.

Regis was led by junior Chris Tran (Boston, Mass.) who tallied five kills on the game. Freshman David Amicangioli (Belmont, Mass.) added four kills, while captain Andrew Carroll (Natick, Mass.) dished out 12 assists.
The Eagles received a solid performance from freshman Joel Hendrix (Keneohe, Haw.). Hendrix notched a  match-high with 13 kills on 15 attempts and no errors. This feat helped Hendrix set a new program single-match record of (.867) and added nine digs on the match.
Junior Kyle Clement (Weymouth, Mass.) added six kills with no errors on eight attempts to hit (.750) and added eight assists while sophomore Joe Walz (East Longmeadow, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills and five digs.
Chris Shannon (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) notched four kills and a match-high 10 digs, while Eric Smith (Clay, N.Y.) handed out 19 assists. David Miller (Eldersburg, Md.) connected for five service aces and four kills.
DWC hit .500 as a team in the set one opener led by four Hendrix kills and thee from Walz, holding Regis to four total kills as DWC never trailed in the set.
The Eagles continued to hit well in set two combining for .474 behind four more kills from Hendrix and three from Clement while Miller and Shannon picked up two aces each. Amicangioli and Tran added two kills for the visitors.
DWC raced out to a 6-1 lead in set three on the way to hitting .609 and never let Regis closer than four (7-3) finishing the set on an 8-1 run as Hendrix finished with five kills and Walz added four kills and five digs. Tran added two kills for the Pride.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday hosting Lasell in a regional matchup beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Regis hosts Endicott in its next  matchup on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
