Weston, Mass.—Freshman Andrew Carroll is the first men’s volleyball player to post a double-double with 24 kills and 11 digs against Albertus Magnus. Regis College (2-15) won its second match of the season Tuesday defeating Albertus 3-2.
Men’s volleyball earned its first win in similar fashion on Feb. 9, defeating Albertus Magnus 3-2 at home. Regis is 2-0 in match winning set five decisions.
“From a coaches perspective it is a great feeling to be 2-0 in game five situations,” said head coach Jason Conetta.
Freshman Thomas Paoletta finished the match with a season and career-high in assists. First-year player Andrew Haddon got the Pride rolling with three consecutive kills, lifting Regis to an 8-2 score.
Carroll tallied nine kills in the Pride’s first set, and had an equally dominant third set. Paoletta had 16 assists in set one, a season-high.
The Pride will host Endicott College Thursday,
March 4 at 7:00 p.m. Regis is a member of the New England Coaches
Volleyball Association (NECVA).
