Polley Becomes All-Time Winningest Doubles Player in Sweep of Becker

LEICESTER, Mass. - Senior Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) broke the all time program record for career wins in doubles play with his 54th victory on Sunday morning, leading the Regis (Mass.) men's team to a sweep of Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference action.

The Hawks of Becker fall to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the NECC while the Pride of Regis (12-5, 4-0 NECC) remain undefeated in league play.

Polley hit the all-time mark with his 54th career win in an 8-0 victory at number three doubles with teammate Kyle Dugat (Houston, Texas) as his partner. Polley is also currently tied for all time singles record at Regis with 55, but was rested in singles play on Saturday.

Regis freshman Gabriel Montealegre (Managua, Nicaragua / American Nicaraguan School) defeated Becker sophomore Throngpol Chinpanjapol (Barre, Mass. / Quabbin Regional) at number one singles, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif. / De La Salle) was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at number two singles for the Pride over senior Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore. / Hillsboro). At number three singles, Becker junior Thomas Lanphear (Manchester, Maine / Maranacook) had the best showing for the Hawks on the day, but still fell 6-1, 6-2 to Regis sophomore Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn. / Guilford).

The Hawks of Becker are back in action on Tuesday when they host Wheelock College in a key NECC match at 4:00 p.m. The Pride of Regis hosts Salem State on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in their next contest.
