ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis (Mass.) men's tennis team topped Monmouth College, completing a perfect spring break trip with a 6-3 win over the Fighting Scots Friday at the USTA National Campus.

With close matches on all three doubles courts, the Pride secured wins on each to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The pairs of Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) and Kyle Dugat (Houston,Texas), and Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) and Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.) won on the No. 3 and No. 2 courts, respectively, 8-4. Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) and Gabriel Montealegre (Managua, Nicargua) capped the perfect doubles performance at the one, beating the Monmouth tandem of Landon Walker (Prairieville, La.) and Saxon Day (Cupertino, Calif.) 8-6.

Regis and Monmouth split their singles play results, but the match was decided after the first two finishes. Cam Charbonneau swept Cole Pyatt 6-3, 6-2 on the No. 6 court then Polley rallied from a set down in five singles to beat Day 4-6, 5-3, 10-5.

Harrow swept Dylan Wong (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) at the one with Monmouth closing the morning with three wins, all three-set matches.

Regis returns to action Thursday, Mar. 16 at Wheelock for its NECC opener. Monmouth next plays Morningside College Saturday, Mar. 18.
