Men's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision At Clark

WORCESTER, Mass. - After back-to-back wins, the Regis (Mass.) men's tennis team headed to Clark University but were upended by the Cougars, 8-1, on Wednesday at Corash Tennis Courts. The Pride fall to 2-3 while Clark improves to 2-1.

Clark won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. The team of Jeremy Morganbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) and Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) notched the Pride's lone win, beating Jimmy Keogh (Worcester, Mass.) and Alex Hattenbach (Wilton, Conn.) 8-3 on the No. 3 court. Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) and Nolan Bebarta (Danville, Calif.) fell 8-2 at the one while the pairs of Jarid Polly (North Reading, Mass.) and Kyle Dugat (Houston, Texas), lost 8-3 at third doubles.

Clark swept singles play to earn the win. The No. 2 court matchup went three sets however with Jack Han (Bakersfield, Calif.) beating Horton 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 in a third set pro set.

The Pride returns to action Friday, Oct. 7 at St. Anselm. Clark is next in action on Sunday, October 2 when they host Salve Regina.
