Men’s Tennis Cruises Past Becker, Wins Fourth Straight NECC Title

WESTON, Mass. – Under sunny skies and cool temperatures, the Regis College men's tennis team dominated Becker College 8-1 to conclude the season with its fourth straight New England Collegiate Conference title Sunday afternoon at the Regis Courts.

The Pride (16-6) lost only at third doubles with Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) clinching the fifth and deciding point with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.) at No. 4 singles. Becker closes the season at 7-4 and runner-up for the NECC title.

Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.), named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, teamed up with partner Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) to win 8-3 for the first point of the match. Quattrociocchi and Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.), won at the two but the Becker tandem of Throngpol Chinpanjapol (Barre, Mass.) and Francis Musick (Laurel Springs, N.J.) got their team on the board with an 8-5 win to close doubles play.

It was all Regis in singles highlighted by Polley winning at love in third singles versus Brittan Morris (Cedar Park, Texas), and Quattrociocchi topping Allison 6-1, 6-0 at the four.

The match concluded with an exciting battle at five singles. Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) rallied from a set down to beat Chinpanjapol in a pro set tiebreaker in the third set 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
