BELUCH NAMED NECC PLAYER OF THE YEAR FOR FOURTH TIME

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College senior Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year for an unprecedented fourth time, while his doubles partner Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) was named the NECC Rookie of the Year, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league offices.

Beluch and Harrow were named to the All-Conference Singles First Team, and were joined there by Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Pa.) and Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.). The duo of Beluch and Harrow were named All-NECC First Team Doubles partners, while Quattrociocchi and Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) earned Honorable Mention Doubles recognition.

Michael Beluch went 8-0 at No. 1 singles and 8-0 at No. 1 doubles in NECC matches this year for the Pride. Beluch and Harrow allowed only 10 points in seven matches played together at No. 1 doubles.

In his career, Beluch went 55-24 at No. 1 singles, including a 34-1 mark in NECC singles matches. At No. 1 doubles he was 53-28 during his four year career, going 35-2 in NECC matchups.

Harrow had an impressive start to his collegiate career, going 7-0 at No. 2 singles and teaming with Beluch to go 7-0 at No. 1 doubles. The freshman was forced to a third set in singles only one time all year. Overall, Harrow went 13-5 at No. 2 singles and 14-5 across No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Not to be outdone by his classmate, freshman Matt Quattrociocchi was equally as dominant in both singles and doubles play, going a perfect 6-0 across No. 3 and No. 4 singles in NECC play. He was only forced to a third set one time all year, and allowed only three points in his five other matches. He and Cohen teamed to go 8-0 at No. 2 doubles this season, posting four 8-0 victories and allowing only 13 points in the other four matches combined.

For the second-straight season, Jarid Polley was named to the All-Conference First Team Singles squad. Polley was a perfect 5-0 across No. 4 and No. 5 singles, allowing only four points in those five matches.

The Regis College men's tennis team captured their third-straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon with a 9-0 sweep of Becker College. Beluch was named the Tournament MVP, while Harrow was named All-Tournament in singles play. Quattrociocchi and Cohen were joined on the All-Tournament Doubles Team by Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) and Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.).
