PRIDE FALL TWICE IN ORLANDO

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Regis College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to NAIA Morningside College this morning, before falling to Saint Mary's (Minn.), 7-2, on Tuesday night. The Pride wrapped up the day with a 6-4 overall mark.

Against Morningside, the doubles tandem of Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) grabbed an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. In singles play, Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) posted a 6-0, 2-6, 11-9 win at No. 2 singles, with Quattrociocchi adding a win at No. 3 singles.

Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) fell in three sets in his No. 1 singles match before falling 6-4, 5-7, 3-10. Polley forced tie-breaks in both of his No. 4 singles sets, but came up short 7-6 (10-5), 7-5 (10-6).

In their final match of the day Cohen and Quattrociocchi teamed to post an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles, while Polley teamed with Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) for a win at No. 3 doubles by the same score.

Beluch had another tough match at the No. 1 singles spot, dropping a 7-5, 1-6, 7-10 decision. Quattrociocchi forced a tie-break in his first set 7-6 (7-4) but dropped the second set, 6-2.

Regis will take on another Minnesota school tomorrow when they take on Saint John's University.
