REGIS PRESEASON FAVORITE IN NECC POLLS

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team has been selected as the preseason No. 1 according to the NECC Preseason Poll, it was announced on Thursday morning by the league offices. The Pride went 13-7 last season and made it all the way to the NECC Championship match.

The Pride, who finished with 34 points and four first place votes, returns its top three singles players from a year ago including the 2012 NECC Player and Rookie of the Year Mike Beluch (Lynn, Mass.). Beluch went 14-6 at the top singles position in 2012, including a 9-1 mark in NECC singles contests. Beluch and Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) were also selected All-NECC First Team doubles after going 7-1 in No. 1 doubles, while going a perfect 6-0 in NECC matchups.

Defending champion Mitchell College placed second in the poll with thirty points and two first place votes.

Regis heads to Hilton Head, S.C. for its annual spring break trip next week and open play with a 12:00 p.m. matchup against Susquehanna on March 4.
