BELUCH NAMED NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College men's tennis player Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week. This marks the third time this season Beluch has been garnered this honor, while making it two weeks in a row the freshman has been named the conference's top rookie.

Michael Beluch helped lead the Pride (12-6, 9-1 NECC) to four NECC wins in as many days as the Pride clinched the No. 2 seed in the NECC postseason this year. Beluch went 4-0 at the No. 1 singles spot and teamed with Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) to go a perfect 4-0 in No. 1 doubles for the Pride. Beluch rallied back from a 4-6 loss in the opening set against Mitchell to take the next sets 6-3 and 6-4 as the Pride defeated then unbeaten Mitchell College, 6-3.

This season Beluch has posted a 9-1 record at No. 1 singles in NECC play and is 12-6 overall at the top spot. The freshman has also gone 12-6 at the No. 1 doubles, including a perfect 6-0 ledger since teaming with Andy White.
