TAVARES TABBED NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WESTON, Mass. – Steve Tavares (Bellingham, Mass.) of the men's soccer team has been named NECC Player of the Week for his standout performances in a series of games that saw the Pride go 2-1, which included wins over Eastern Nazarene and Elms College.

The senior recorded the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Mount Ida on Wednesday and scored the first goal in an eventual 2-1 victory over Elms on Saturday to open NECC conference play.

Tavares has registered a team-leading eight goals and 17 points on the year for Regis. He has scored at least one goal in five of the nine games played this season.

The Pride will be back in action tonight as they take on Lesley University for an 8:00 p.m. conference matchup.
