CHARRON TABBED NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

WESTON, Mass. – For the second time this season, men's soccer standout freshman Kenny Charron (West Warwick, R.I.) has been honored by the New England Collegiate Conference by being named the Rookie of the Week, as announced by NECC offices earlier this morning.

The rookie forward provided the heroics for the Pride in a 2-0 defeat of Becker on Saturday afternoon. Charron got on the board in the 25th minute of the game, scoring the eventual game-winner after finishing off a cross in front of the goal, with assists coming from Renato Rosas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.). The freshman added to the lead less than ten minutes later after receiving a through ball from Angel Aguilar (Silver Spring, Md.). Charron found himself in a one-on-one situation with the keeper before ultimately faking him out and beating him on the opposite post.

The Pride, who currently have a 3-2 record in NECC play, will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 20th for a 4:00 p.m. conference battle with Southern Vermont College.
