LANCTOT NETS TWO IN PRIDE WIN

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Dillon Lanctot (Somersworth, N.H.) scored his first two career collegiate goals in the second half, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 victory over visiting Eastern Nazarene College on Monday afternoon in Weston, Mass. The Pride improves to 2-5 overall with the win, while the Lions drop to 2-5 overall.

The Pride scored four goals on only eight shot attempts in the win. Christian Mukala (Malden, Mass.) and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) also added tallies for Regis.

Eastern Nazarene had the chance to strike first as a perfectly placed through ball from William Campbell (Anchorage, Alaska) found the foot of Scott Hansen (Middletown Spring, Vt.), who beat the Regis keeper Stefan Todorovic (Los Angeles, Calif.) 1-on-1, but his shot rattled off the post only 15 minutes into the game. Hansen and Campbell connected on the exact same play nearly 13 minutes later, but Hansen's drive sailed wide and off the side of the net, keeping the score knotted at 0-0.

Regis' first opportunity of the day came off a throw in from Alex Caliendo (Windsor, Conn.), who's throw was headed up into the air, then headed again, and finally headed on net by Chris Millington (Huntington, N.Y.), but the ball ricocheted off the left goal post. The Pride finally got on the board on a well-placed throw-in by Caliendo that found Christian Mukala in the box and he blasted the ball to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Hansen had another shot in a 1-on-1 with Todorovic as time was winding down in the opening half, but the Regis netminder stoned him, to preserve the 1-0 lead headed into the break.

The Lions outshot the Pride at a 6-3 clip in the opening period, and also held a 1-0 advantage in corners. Stefan Todorovic turned away all three shots on goal he faced, while ENC's Jake Johnson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) only allowed the one goal.

Lanctot and the Pride wasted no time padding their lead as Renato Rosas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) corralled a Lions turnover and found Lanctot on the opposite side, where the freshman buried the shot opposite post for a 2-0 lead. Lanctot's second goal of the game came on a through ball from Mukala that left Lanctot 1-on-1 with Johnson. Lanctot went opposite post again and gave Regis an insurance goal with 34 minutes remaining.

Eastern Nazarene made it a two-goal contest as Ryan Piesco (Duxbury, Mass.) controlled a punched ball out of the box and placed the ball in the open net to make it a 3-1 game only 40 seconds after Lanctot's second tally. Jeff Parrish sealed the game with his second goal of the year as another throw from Caliendo sailed over the Lions defense and to the feet of Parrish, who deposited the ball into the net to take a 4-1 lead.

Eastern Nazarene held a 19-8 edge in shots for the game and took seven corners to Regis' two. Stefan Todorovic picked up his first win of the year while making eight saves and allowing the one goal. Jake Johnson fell to 1-5 with the setback.

Regis returns to action on Wednesday night as the Pride travel to Mount Ida College for a non-league game at 7:00 p.m. The Lions look to snap a four game skid when they host Becker College in a 3:30 p.m. game on Wednesday afternoon.
