Weston, Mass.---The Regis College men's soccer team is set to take on Newbury College Tuesday (Sept. 14) at the Regis College Athletic Fields. The Pride enter the contest 2-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference with early season victories over Wheelock and Emerson College this season. The Nighthawks are 1-1 in the New England Collegiate Conference after suffering an early season loss to MIT and a win against Emmanuel College.
For the Pride, junior forward Josh Fidalgo (Dorchester, Mass./Boston College) enters the game as the team's leading scorer with two goals on the season. On defense Goalkeeper Ryne Tillman (Bedford, Mass/Bridgton Academy) leads the defense with 23 saves on the season. Players that could have a key impact on the game are juniors Shawn McDonough (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) and Wade Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass./Salem) who bring a high level of intensity to the squad.
The visiting Nighthawks are lead by senior Joseph Lawer(Worcester, Mass./Burncoat) who has one goal on the season and sophomore Abdul Kamara (Milton, Mass./Milton) who has two assists on the season. Starting in goal for the Nighthawks is William McNally (Grafton, Mass./Marian) who has 14 saves on the season.
The Game is being played at the Regis College Athletic Fields and will start at 4:00 pm.
