WNEC TOP PRIDE IN TCCC PLAY

Weston, Mass.-Patience, precision, and persistence easily describe how Western New England College (10-1-4, 7-0-3 TCCC) defeated its Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Regis College (0-15, 0-10 TCCC) 4-1 Saturday evening. The Golden Bears were relentless in its offensive attacks, taking 51 shots on the day.

Credit Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) with 19 saves, but considering his efforts, the Pride would still fall short. Opening the game with the Golden Bears first score would be Kevin Zimbal (Schenectady, NY) at 8:49, with an assist from Casey Schick (Glen Rock, NY).

Considering three shots on goal, Schick would not score for Western New England, but did contribute two assists in the game. Dan Hare (Staatsburg, NY) scored the Golden Bears second goal at 15 minutes, from teammate Jim Maples (Pleasant Valley, NY).

Western New England's play remained skillful throughout both halves. Brian Dill (Portland, CT) scored at 23:00 due to the Golden Bears consistent play. Dill's goal would come from Dale Totman (Conway, Mass.). Scoring Western New England's final goal of the day was Ryan Nugent (Northampton Bay, PA) at 74 minutes.

Having waited long enough in the game, Josh Fidalgo (Dorchester, Mass.) scored with less than a minute remaining in the game. The Pride's keeper, LaMacchia, assisted Fidalgo on a punt. Regis College heads to Roger Williams on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
