HAWKS SCORE QUICKLY IN 3-0 DEFEAT OF REGIS COLLEGE

Weston, Mass.-Josh Boyce (Peabody, Mass.) of Roger Williams wasted little time scoring the Hawks first goal at 13:40. Roger Williams defeated The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Regis College 3-0 Saturday.

Boyce was assisted by Daniel Hunter (Middletown, Conn.) and Billy Kissane (Glastonbury, Conn.). Kissane has led the Hawks with five goals on the season.

Regis College maintained a stout defense throughout the first period. Roger Williams would not score again until four minutes into the second period when Kevin Hand (Wilton, Conn.) would score with a header off of a Bradley Macdonald (Topsfield, Mass.) corner kick.

Pride defenders Shawn McDonough (Framingham, Mass.), Wade Thongsythavong (Lynn, Mass.) and Ricky Guyette (Medway, Mass.) were sound against the Roger Williams interior.

The two TCCC schools combined to commit 17 total fouls in the match. Regis would again stave off the Hawks for 13 minutes before a foul inside the box by a Regis defender led Justin Plourde (Concord, N.H.) scoring on a penalty kick at 62:32.

Pride keeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) would dive right when Plourde would score to the upper left post. LaMacchia tallied 15 saves against 30 shots from the Roger Williams offense. In comparison, Regis managed just 10 shots.

Credit Hawks keeper Peter Slate (Commack, N.Y.) with the shutout in 80:00 minutes. Timothy Doherty (East Granby, Conn.) would finish the last 10:00 minutes of the second period.

Both Regis College and Roger Williams continue TCCC play Oct. 1 as they match up with Nichols and Gordon College respectively.
