PRIDE FALL 4-2 TO EMERSON IN SEASON OPENER

BOSTON, Mass. - Eric Dabdoub (Jr., Mexico City, Mexico) tallied three goals and assisted on the fourth for Emerson College to lead the Lions (1-0-0) over the Regis College Pride (0-1-0) at Emerson's Rotch Field in the season opener for both teams.

Despite falling behind 1-0 on Regis' first shot, Emerson rallied to take a 2-1 halftime lead.  The Pride scored on a header by Josh Fidalgo off a corner kick by Ricky Guyette in the third minute to give Regis a 1-0 lead.  Dabdoub answered with his first goal a dozen minutes later off a free kick, and gave the Lions the lead just over six minutes later on a header off a feed from Zach Sayward (Sr., Franklin, Mass.).

In the 51st minute Dabdoub drilled a crossing pass that Casey Shane (Sr., New York, N.Y.) headed into the net to run the Lions lead to 3-1.  Capping his evening, Dabdoub took a corner kick in the 56th minute that found its way into the opposite lower right corner of the net.

Regis' capped the scoring with less than five minutes remaining as Shawn McDonough converted a rebound off a Kevin Mahoney shot from the right side that hit the post and ricocheted in front of the net.

Emerson had the best of the statistical categories in the contest, outshooting Eastern Nazarene 19-5, and dominating corner kicks by a 13-5 margin.  Nick Strauss (Sr. Norwood, Mass.) and Noah Price(So., Cambridge, MA) each had one save for the Lions and allowed one goal.  Steve Morisseau made six stops for the Pride.

Emerson's next game is Wednesday, September 9 at 6:00pm at Rotch Field against Anna Maria College.
