ALPHA TO IMPROVE SOCCER'S FRONT LINE

Weston, Mass.—Head coach Jonathan Keefe announced that Ibrahim Alpha (Pennsauken, NJ) committed to playing for the Regis College men’s soccer program in fall 2010. Alpha will likely compete for an attack position during preseason in August.

“Ibrahim has tremendous speed,” said assistant coach Evan Myers. “He plays the game hungry and intense,” Myers continued. Alpha was a four-year athlete that excelled in soccer and track in high school.

Alpha is involved with a number of community service initiatives in New Jersey, an honor roll student, maintained a 3.2 grade point average while playing sports, and was a class president.

Men’s soccer is in its third year as varsity sport at Regis College, and defeated two conference opponents in 2009. Regis defeated both Gordon College and Colby-Sawyer College 2-1. The Pride beat Colby-Sawyer in overtime play.
