Weston,
Mass.—Regis College men’s soccer continued its pursuit
of building a competitive program by adding Nicholas Tavares
(Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham) to its incoming 2010 class.
“We are extremely excited to have a player, and person of
Nick’s ability and character,” said head coach Jonathan
Keefe. Tavares is a three-sport athlete for the Hawks, excelling in
basketball, track and field, and soccer.
Keefe said of the midfielder, “he’s a tenacious
competitor.” Tavares was a team captain, most valuable
player, and voted the coaches award winner for Bellingham.
“He is a solid young man and student-athlete, and I expect
his leadership skills to be a huge asset to our program,”
said Keefe.
Tavares was also named a Tri-Valley All-star. Regis College
men’s soccer will enter its third season as a varsity sport
in the fall. The Pride began varsity competition under Keefe in
2008.
