The Pride broke through just over two minutes into the second quarter thanks to a goal by Anthony Marsella (Johnston, R.I.) assisted by Nick Klein (Buxton, Maine). A little less than three minutes later, Connor Deveau (Harwich, Mass.) would create a shot opportunity and convert it for his fifth goal of the season to tie the match at 2-2.

With less than six minutes left in the second quarter, Olsen earned his second goal of the match to put the Pilgrims back on top, 3-2. Klein would score with 2:05 remaining in the first half to pull Regis back into a tie at 3-3, but Thomas Norton responded 50 seconds later with an unassisted tally that gave NEC a 4-3 halftime advantage.

The Pilgrims took control of the match with three goals within the span of 67 seconds early in the third quarter, as Nathan Hawkins, Doe, and Evan Zonderman all scored for the home team. Klein would earn his second goal of the match later in the period, but goals by Pfeifle and Kain in the final minute of the period allowed NEC to extend its lead to 9-4 heading into the fourth quarter.

New England College scored four unanswered goals in the final period as Pfeifle completed his hat trick and then assisted on Doe's second goal of the night. Brendan Cook (Billerica, Mass.) completed the scoring in the match as he snapped the Pilgrims' scoring streak late in regulation.
