Men's Lacrosse Loses Home Opener

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated by Dean College, 17-2, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

Regis scored its first goal in the third quarter when Connor Deveau (Harwich, Mass.) found Matt Cabassa (Weymouth, Mass.) who scored his second goal of the season to put the Pride on the board.

The Pride scored again near the end of the fourth quarter when Nick Klein (Buxton, Maine) cut toward the net and scored an unassisted goal to cap off scoring for the contest.

Robby Fuller (Wolfeboro, N.H.) had eight saves in three quarters for the Pride while Devin Hammon (Chicopee, Mass.) had one save after taking over in the fourth period. James Rollins and Jake Sock split time in net for the Bulldogs, combining for eight saves.

Owen Brine led Dean offensively with five goals and one assist while Diego Alvarez-Segee scored four goals and had one assist. Matthew Pacheco had two goals and two assists while Greg Centeio also scored twice. Other goal scorers included Aidan McCarthy, Grayson Colvin, Jason Richard, and Chris Rivera.

Regis College (3-2, 0-2 GNAC) next plays at Anna Maria on Tuesday, March 28, beginning at 6:00 p.m. before returning home on Saturday, April 1, to take on Norwich at 2:00 p.m.
