Arpan Kakadia Named to NEILA All-Academic Team

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Arpan Kakadia (Pembroke, N.H.), a recent Regis College graduate and a four-year letterwinner in the Pride men's lacrosse program, has been selected to the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-Academic Team, announced by the organization Tuesday, June 21.

Kakadia adds this honor to several others he has received over the past couple months, including the Male Senior Scholar-Athlete Award for outstanding achievement in academics while participating on a varsity team. At Baccalaureate, Kakadia collected the Lynn Tripp Coleman Grace and Dedication Award for "best personifying the qualities exhibited by Coleman during her 32 years of dedicated service to Regis College."

The midfielder also received the prestigious Crimson and Gold tassel for outstanding service to Regis, commitment to the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and leadership of his class. At the Student Affairs Leadership Awards April 26, Kakadia received the Orientation Service Award and the Academic Excellence Award.

A three-time Academic All-GNAC honoree with a grade point average over 3.9, Kakadia graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in biology and plans to attend PA school at Northeastern University. He appeared in 15 matches during the 2022 lacrosse season, scoring four goals, dishing out one assist, and collecting eight groundballs.

Kakadia is one of 11 student-athletes named NEILA All-Academic from teams within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. In total, 129 Division III players representing 37 institutions received NEILA All-Academic honors.

Members of the NEILA All-Academic Teams are nominated by head coaches in Divisions I, II and II, and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their men's lacrosse career. Nominees must have senior or graduate student standing, a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be an impact player for their team.

Men's lacrosse is one of 20 intercollegiate sports sponsored by Regis College, a NCAA Division III member competing within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
