Nick Penta Selected to Play in 2022 NEILA All-Star Game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After completing his collegiate playing career this past spring, Nick Penta (Cotuit, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-Star Game Friday night, June 3, starting at 7 p.m. at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College.

Starting 13 matches for the Pride during the 2022 season, Penta finished third in the GNAC with 203 total saves, the third-highest save total in a single season in program history. He also ended up in third place on the Regis career saves list with 339 saves and had three matches with 20 or more saves during the past season, highlighted by a 27-save performance at Dean April 9, one save away from the Pride single match standard.

Penta will be the first Regis player in six years and third overall to participate in the NEILA All-Star Game. Jack O'Brien, a four-time All-NECC selection and Regis' all-time faceoffs leader, played in the 2016 NEILA All-Star Game. In 2014, Matt Vogan, sixth on the Pride career goals list with 71 goals, competed for the NEILA East squad and registered two shots during the contest.

Penta is one of 39 players scheduled to take part in the annual event, with student-athletes representing New England schools at the Division I, II, and III levels. Penta, selected to play on the NEILA West All-Star Team, will be one of five players and one coach representing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference along with three Lasell players, one competitor from Johnson and Wales, and Emmanuel College assistant coach Marcus Young.

Fans planning to attend Friday night's contest should enter the Providence College campus via Huxley Gate (250 Huxley Ave., Providence, R.I.) and take the first right at the rotary followed by an immediate right into the parking garage. Parking is available either in the garage or by the hockey arena, with Anderson Stadium sitting adjacent to the garage.

There will also be a live video stream of the game available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NitvrZ6fnF4.

Men's lacrosse is one of 20 NCAA Division III sports sponsored by Regis College within the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
