WESTON, Mass. – Led by a career-high eight goals from Alex Ferran (Miami, Fla.), the Regis College Men's Lacrosse team won their fifth straight game as they defeated non-conference opponent Green Mountain College 19-2 Wednesday evening in a cold and blustery contest at Regis Stadium. The win moves the Crimson and Gold to 5-1 on the year and the loss keeps the Eagles winless at 0-5.

Ferran was the centerpiece of the Pride offense on a night that saw the hosts outshoot the guests by a 51 to 26 margin. The junior attack also added three helpers on the evening. The Pride scooped up more groundballs than their counterparts (43-25).

Sophomore attack AJ Karofsky (Barrington, R.I.) added four goals and an assist, teammate Collin Spillane (Franklin, Mass.) recorded a hat-trick (three goals) and matched Ferran with three assists. Andrew O'Reilly (Hollis, N.H.) chipped in two goals and three assists as well.

Specialist Jack O'Brien (Milton, Mass.) had himself a day in the faceoff circle as he won 21-of-25 (84%) of his faceoff attempts and scooped up a team-high 14 groundballs. Reigning New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week D.J. Barrile (Medford, Mass.) allowed only two first quarter goals to Nick Parsons (Harpswell, Maine) and David Gerken (Yarmouth, Maine) while being supported by a strong defense the rest of the way. Barrile made six saves on his way to his fifth win of the campaign. Tyler Estes (Geneva, Ill.) came on in relief for the fourth quarter and stopped nine shots in 15 minutes.

Regis returns to action on Saturday when they travel to the Coast Guard Academy for a 1:00 p.m. duel.
