PRIDE EARN FIRST HOME WIN, CLAW LIONS 18-5

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis college men's lacrosse team won their first home contest of the season defeating non-conference opponent Emerson College 18-5 Wednesday evening at Regis Stadium. The victory improved the Pride to 3-1 on the season and the Lions remained winless (0-3) with the loss.

The Pride led 9-1 at the end of the first half and 18-1 at the end of the third quarter. Regis was 4-of-8 on extra man opportunities, held the advantage in groundballs 48-27 and shots 44-25 over the guests.

Danny Rancano (Miami, Fla.) and Alex Ferran (Miami, Fla.) tallied five scores apiece with Ferran assisting on one goal. Sophomore midfielder Calvin Brault (Colchester, Vt.) scored a hat-trick (three goals) and recorded five assists. Also adding ginos for the Pride were AJ Karofsky (Barrington, R.I.), Andrew O'Reilly (Hollis, N.H.), Collin Spillane (Franklin, Mass.) and Brandon Mehler (Bay Shore, N.Y.). O'Reilly, Marshall Tate (Taunton, Mass.) and Christian Reed (Bedford, Mass.) assisted on goals as well.

For the Lions Cameron Radenberg (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Nicholas Kitsos (Summit, N.J.) racked up two goals apiece while Diego Rosende (Plantation, Fla.) tallied a score and three helpers.

Regis goaltender D.J. Barrile (Medford, Mass.) moved to 3-1 on the season as he stopped eight shots and allowed two goals in 48:57.

Regis returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Husson for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
