NASHUA, N.H. – The Regis College men's lacrosse team rallied from a 2-0 first quarter deficit to take an 9-6 victory over non-conference opponent Rivier University Saturday afternoon at Raider field. The win, was the Prides' first of the season and of Head Coach Randy Frasier's Pride career, evened up their record at 1-1 and the loss dropped the hosts to 1-2.

Rivier outshot Regis by a 39-25 margin and won the turnover battle as the Pride committed 18 turnovers to the Raider's 14.

Freshman attack Colby Larsen (Windham, N.H.) and senior midfielder Kyle Graham (Londonderry, N.H.) tallied the first two goals a minute apart from each other and were both assisted by teammate Cody Lynch (Salem, N.H.). Junior attack Alex Ferran (Miami, Fla.) opened up the scoring for the Crimson and Gold with 8:39 left in the second quarter. Calvin Brault (Colchester, Vt.) followed with a gino from Ferran to knot up the score at 2-2. Cody Lynch assisted on his third score of the day when he found teammate Joe Kelland (Watertown, Mass.) to give the Raiders a 3-2 lead with 5:31 left before half.

Regis rallied with two goals in the final three minutes with sophomore attack Collin Spillane (Franklin, Mass.) and Ferran, adding his second marker of the afternoon, to give the Pride their first lead and head into the intermission up 4-3.

The teams swapped goals in the third quarter as Colby Larsen opened with a goal and was answered by Brault, three minutes later to put the Pride back up. Ryan Coombs (Derry, N.H.) scored with two seconds left to tie the score headed into the final stanza.

Ferran scored his third goal of the contest two minutes into the period assisted by Spillane to put Regis back up in front. Fifty seconds later, Tyler Tambouris (Hookset, N.H.) tied the contest up with a goal to make it six all. A few ticks went off the clock before Tambouris was called for an illegal body check which led to the game winning unassisted man up goal by Brault.

Nicky Rodrigo (Miami, Fla.) added two insurance goals to make sure the Pride stayed in front.

Sophomore attack Danny Rancano (Miami, Fla.) assisted on three goals for the Pride as Brault and Ferran recorded hat-tricks. Goalkeeper D.J. Barrile (Medford, Mass.) stopped 13 shots en route to his first victory of the season.

Regis returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a 1:00 p.m. contest at Deering Memorial Stadium.
