MEN'S LAX ANNOUNCES CLASS OF 2019

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's lacrosse team will welcome 11 incoming freshmen for the 2016 season.

The incoming student-athletes include Aaron Basiliere (Methuen, Mass.), Andrew Cook (Bedford, Mass.), Joe Foley (Coventry, R.I.), Zach Leighton (Wilmington, Mass.), Peter Motley (Bellmore, N.Y.), George Nicolopoulos (Windham, N.H.), Christian Reed (Bedford, N.H.), Max Rigaud (Vero Beach, Fla.), Justin Roderick (Pawtucket, R.I.), Marshall Tate (Taunton, Mass.), and Mike Tremblay (Arlington, Mass).

Hailing from four different states, the class includes three midfielders, two attackmen and six defenders.

Basiliere is a graduate of Central Catholic High School where he helped guide the team to two winning seasons while playing the midfield position. He played his club ball for Middlesex Bears Lacrosse.

Cook played football and lacrosse for Bedford High School and will be looked upon to add some size to a young Pride defensive unit. He played his club ball for Home Grown lacrosse.

A three-sport athlete (football, basketball and lacrosse), Foley helped lead the Coventry High School lacrosse team to a state championship game in 2014. The defenseman played his club ball for Roots Lacrosse.

A two-way midfielder for Wilmington High School, Leighton joins the Pride after successful stints on both the football and lacrosse teams this past year. He played his club ball for Home Grown Lacrosse where he participated in the Senior All-Star Classic this past season.

The second-ever Long Island, N.Y. native to join the Pride, Motley was a three-sport athlete (football, wrestling and lacrosse) for Mepham High School. The defenseman played his club ball for Team Checkmate.

A two-time New Hampshire All-State defenseman, Nicolopoulos travels to the Bay State for his college years following a successful stint at the Derryfield School. He helped guide his team to a 2014 state championship game while playing his club ball for New Hampshire Tomahawks.

Reed joins the team following his time as an attackman for Bishop Brady High School. He was a four-year starter for his high school while also suiting up for New England Elite Lacrosse.

A soccer and lacrosse player, Max Rigaud joins the Florida contingent of lacrosse players for the Pride. With his speed he will be used on both the attack and midfield side of the ball following his time at Vero Beach High School. He played his club ball for both Treasure Coast and the Sun Devils Lacrosse squads.

A 2010 graduate of Mount Saint Charles High School, Roderick played attack for the Mounties with two separate state runner-up finishes during his career. Most recently he has been coaching at his alma mater where he was named Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) Boys Lacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year.

Taunton, Mass. defenseman Tate will join the Pride Lacrosse family this fall. A multi-sport athlete, Tate was the catalyst for the creation of varsity lacrosse at his high school where he served as a two-year captain for the Tigers. He played his club ball for Prime Time Lacrosse.

An Arlington High School graduate, Tremblay will suit up for the Crimson and Gold in 2016. The 6'2 starting defenseman for the Spy Ponders previously played under former Pride assistant coach Bryant Amitrano '13. His size will be a valuable asset to the Pride defense.
