WESTON, Mass. – Freshman Jack O'Brien (Milton, Mass.) of the Regis College men's lacrosse team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 9-7 setback to SUNY Canton, as announced by the conference's offices earlier this morning.

The rookie midfielder finished the game with 15 groundballs and was 14-for-18 (77.8%) on face-offs for the Pride. O'Brien currently ranks second in the league in both categories, with 39 ground balls and a 49-71 record on face-offs in five games this season.

The Pride (2-3) will be back in action on Thursday evening, March 21, as the team will host Emerson College for a nonconference game at 7:00 p.m. on the turf.
