PRIDE NAMES FOUR CAPTAINS FOR 2012-2013

WESTON, Mass. - Head men's lacrosse coach Josh Blumenthal recently announced the naming of four captains for the 2012-2013 season as selected by members of the team.

Rising senior Stephan Bottex (Norwood, Mass.) will complete his collegiate career in the Crimson and Gold as a four-year captain. The Regis College Third-Year Student Athlete of the Year, Bottex led the pride in both groundballs (51) and face off percentage at 47.2% (69-for-146).

Rising Junior Brian Cidado (Easton, Mass.) returns for his second season in the role after leading a gritty Pride defense in which he ranked third in caused turnovers with eleven.

Rising juniors Chris Campbell (South Hadley, Mass.) and Breandan Crane (Billerica, Mass.) join the leadership contingent as well. Campbell, a mid-year transfer student, finished last season ranked third on the team in goals (15) and points (19) while being among the leaders in shots (67) and shots on goal percentage (60%).

Crane was fifth in the Pilgrim League in total saves with 129, while facing the bulk of the shots this season between the pipes for the Pride. In addition, the 6'3 net minder also played attack in two contests scoring a pair of goals. Crane will make the transition from defense to attack next season.

"Our team has and continues to be moving on an upward trend and these five young men will only strengthen our unity while helping guide us to greatness," Blumenthal said.
