PRIDE SET TO TAKE ON NOR'EASTERS

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s lacrosse team is set to take on the University of New England Tuesday (Mar. 29). The Pride enters the contest with an overall record of 2-1. The Nor’easters enter the contest with an overall record of 2-5 and are 0-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The Pride is led on offense by Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield). Hastings currently leads the Pride in total points on the season with 18.  Freshman Billy Stewart (West Roxbury, Mass./Catholic Memorial) and John Basbas (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) will look to help the Pride in the scoring department.  Stewart has been on target with his shooting in the past two games and will look to continue to be a sharpshooter. Basbas’s shifty playing style has allowed him to create offense from behind the net.  He will look to collaborate with Hastings in finding the back of the net.

The Pride’s defense will be led by Andrew Goldberg (Solebury, PA/New Hope). Broderick McCauley (Pittsfield, Mass./Saint Joseph High School) and Brian Cidado (Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) have played well defensively for the Pride in the past two contests.  Cidado and McCauley will need to continue to keep playing well and throw efficient checks to be effective for the Pride.

The Nor’easters are led by Tyler Thomas (Mount Pleasant, N.Y.Bedford Road) and Dylan Thomas (Mount Pleasant, N.Y.Bedford Road). Both Thomas’s are leaders in offensive production for the Nor’easters tallying nine goals apiece on the season.

The Nor’easters defense is led by Nate Porter (Cohasset, Mass.Cohasset Middle). He has been the leading goalie for the Nor’easters. Porter has played 345 minutes and tallied 62 saves on the season.

The Game will be played in Biddeford, Maine and is set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
