HASTINGS TALLIES TEN POINTS IN PRIDE WIN

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men's lacrosse team defeated Daniel Webster College Wednesday (Mar.23) by the score of 16-5. The Pride moves to 2-0 on the season, while the visiting Eagles drop to 0-1 on the season.

The Pride's offense had a breakout game with seven different players tallying points in the contest. The Pride was led by Bradford Hastings (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) who tallied a team high of five goals and five assists. John Basbas (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) and Billy Stewart (West Roxbury, Mass./Catholic Memorial) continued to excel from the attack position by tallying four goals apiece.

Matt Vogan (Belmont, Mass./Belmont) found his groove on offense by finding the back of the net for the Pride two times and dished the ball for one assist. Senior Derek Brown (Brighton, Mass./Matignon) chipped in with one goal and one assist to round out the Pride's scoring.

The Pride's defense was led by Tyler Beyor (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) and Breandan Crane (Billerica, Mass./Arlington Catholic). Beyor and Crane split time in next and both tallied six saves apiece.  Andrew Goldberg (Solebury, PA/New Hope) and Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass./St. Mary's) were able to contain the Eagles midfielders and force them to take off balanced shots.

The Eagles were led by Kieran Kavanaugh (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) and Justin Chiulli (Saugus, Mass. /Saugus) who each tallied two goals apiece for the Eagles.  Alex Mckenzie (Nashua, N.H. (Nashua South) and Kavanaugh each tallied an assist to help out the Eagles offense.

The Eagles defense was led by Tommy Driscoll (South Boston, Mass. /Catholic Memorial) who tallied 13 saves in the game for the Eagles. Antonio Polson (Lanesboro, Mass. /Mt. Greylock) helped out in ground balls tallying six in the game.

The Pride's next matchup is Saturday (Mar. 26) against New England College. The Eagles next matchup is Saturday (Mar. 26) against Green Mountain College.
