FIRST LACROSSE CLASS BIGGER, FASTER, AND STRONGER

FIRST LACROSSE CLASS BIGGER, FASTER, AND STRONGER

Weston, Mass.-Competing in its first season as a varsity sport, head coach Jacob Kravitz signs six quality recruits to a young Pride team. The class brings size, speed, and raw talent to a program that has potential in its future.

This is Kravitz's first recruiting class in the team's varsity status. Regis competed in a club schedule during the 2008-09 season, and will return several players from that squad.

Bradford "Zach" Hastings, (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield)

Hastings served as Mansfield's team captain, and one of its top scores in his senior year. Hastings will look to see the field as a potential attacker.

Kravitz on Brad Hastings:

"Brad has good skills and explosive speed that we expect him to contribute from day one. He's capable of putting points on the board as an attacker, and he may possibly see time at midfield."

Nick Yerzyk, (West Hills, Cali./Chaminade College Prep)

Nick is a two-position athlete that will boost a young program taking the field in 2009-10.

Kravitz on Nick Yerzyk:

"Nick is conditioned, and will be ready to defend against other team's top lines. He is not afraid of contact."

Zatrick Pinkney, (Nantucket, Mass./Nantucket)

Pinkney brings a large 6'3, 230lb frame to a lean program. A football and basketball stud in high school, Pinkney will look to defend the cage in 2009.

Kravitz on Zatrick Pinkney:

"Zatrick is an impressive presence with a sharp mind for the game. With his athleticism and size Zatrick could move from the cage to another position."

Andrew Goldberg, (Solebury, PA./New Hope-Solebury)

"Speedy with a lot of athletic upside," Kravitz says of Goldberg. Andrew is a raw talent athlete that will contribute over time to the program.

Kravitz on Andrew Goldberg:

"By adding some refined skills and experience to his raw talent he could develop into a very strong long stick midfielder, or close defenseman."

Sean Crawford, (Framingham, Mass./Framingham)

A local product, Crawford switched from being a soccer recruit to a lacrosse recruit.

Kravitz on Sean Crawford:

"Soccer skills such as footwork and endurance carry over very well to lacrosse. I expect him to be a solid midfielder."

Broderick McCauley, (Pittsfield, Mass./Saint Joseph's Central)

A member of a solid high school program at Saint Joseph's, McCauley will add some experience from having played in a competitive high school league to the first-year varsity program.

Kravitz on Broderick McCauley:

"He is a solid player and hard working young man. We expect him to come in and work hard to improve, possibly earning playing time early in his career."
